Documentation

One of the big plusses of the OpenVMS operating system is the professional and comprehensive documentation. For a quick "How do I...", refer to the online help. You can access this any time you're logged in simply by entering HELP.

More comprehensive documentation is available, an online version of the infamous "wall" of manuals can be found here...

This is in DEC's proprietary BookReader format which is processed into web pages by Mark Daniel's WASD add-on, HyperReader.

In addition to the standard HELP library, there are a number of others that you usually find installed on any VMS system. Here's some of them...

These help libraries are used by the utilities themselves, so what you get in the above links is the help available from within these utilities (what you get when you type HELP). The notable exception being Multinet. All of the multinet commands are entered on the command line, and, unless registered in DCLTABLES, must be prefixed with MULTINET (This can be abbreviated to MU).
